Remembering an old friend

On May 3, 2019 Cpl. Samuel Shipley of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office mourned the loss of a great friend and partner, K9 Lt. Lou. Prior to Shipley coming to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office he had served as a York County Deputy Sheriff for 18 years, retiring in 2018 with the rank of Sergeant. Shipley was the first K9 handler for the York County Sheriff’s Office having acquired Lou as a pup in 2008. Lou was a scent tracking bloodhound and together they had been dispatched to over 140 incidents tracking lost children, criminals and missing adults. Lou was retired from service nearly two years ago. He enjoyed his remaining years of home life with the Shipley’s.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office extends our deepest condolences to Sam and honor the memory of his true friend and partner, Lou.
